help with video
« on: February 06, 2016, 16:53:25 »
I am doing small video clips for my Touring website - but hit a snag yesterday.
Let me start by saying I am not a videographer - and have never been particularly keep on video - in my opinion the D800 could have been without this.
But - I have found a use for it - which I think will add value to my website.

So - i did a couple of clips - and some of them had an issue - it looks like the lens is breathing in and out - only on some clips...
I set up the camera on a tripod with a decent head - so there is no change of it slipping or creeping.
I only press the video button and didnt touch the set up - only the panning leaver

If you are so inclined - please check this 8 seconds clip I uploaded to youtube so you can see what I mean (clipped short so you can see the issue)

ANY help will be appreciated please

Turn off AF.

Definitely AF working when it shouldn't.

Video and timelapse tend to be the only situations in which I use the hyperfocal theory.

Nice, but I think it is a sea lion - it has visible ears, and non-seal type flippers.
