The Rolex man
« on: January 19, 2016, 02:13:27 »
Taken last summer in Chinatown, here in Toronto.
This lovely gentleman sells cheap watches and watchbands on the street, and our little running joke is where does he keep the Rolexes.
On this particular day I rather liked his relaxed, shoeless pose as he sat beside his open air display and grabbed this shot.
Cosina Voigtlander R2S Bessa
Nikon 35mm 1.8 in Nikon S mount
Fuji 100 ISO colour slide
about 5.6 @ 1/1000th
I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

One laid back gent.  Well captured Robert.

Down here in Australia, these fake Rolex watches are known as Lolexes.  I understand that it is something to do with where they are made.   ;D

Thanks guys for the kind words.
Another instance where the photogods were smiling down on me.
Hugh,
The Rolex business is just us kidding around.
He doesn't sell any of those fakes, but rather just very cheap battery-driven watches that don't pretend to be anything other than what they are.

There is so much in this image ... I keep coming back. I appreciate the detail of his personal hygiene. His clothes are spotless, his stocking feet and behind are resting on clean newspapers and his presentation stand is vacuum cooled. (I do keep coming back to this image.)
