the camera I am waiting for
« on: January 14, 2016, 14:05:56 »
For YEARS - I have been saying - that my next camera will be a photographic mind - which can download to my Mac.
It seems I have been on the right path with this.
A few more years perhaps?

Image sharing would never be quite the same if this camera materialised :D

There is a video in youtube about a guy controlling a BB8 toy robot using one of this "mind readers"
it explains how this works, in short :

The device is programmed to read specific brain impulses, ie: moving your hand in a certain way
when the impulse is recognized it then triggers an action

so ... no it wouldn't be taking pictures of everything that attracts your attention just by default, unless it is programmed to recognize *that* particular impulse

in the bb8 video the control is done via wireless - bluetooth I think - a bit less intrusive than the google glasses, still requires the "tiara" over your forehead

edit: here is the video , nothing to do with photography, it's more about using the mind reading device and how it triggers actions

One should try to limit the use of imaginary filters ;)

Yeh... might be nice.
But that camera, for me, should take pictures of things that I can't see because I'm not there. That would be an achievement.

But, and I must confess, some neurons should be disconnected first, or some noise would appear... and I rest my case  ;D

The possible applications for people with certain disabilities are certainly fantastic, but It'd be un-necessary tech overkill for photography.  All that tech to basically make a shutter button that doesn't require any finger motion?

This device could definitely be useful for people with physical disabilities.
