Acces from mobile works just perfect

I often access the forum to browse from my mobile phone and it works perfect,
if something is to small I do not mind zooming in to click it, I can zoom in to images and see the details, typing is slow but that is the nature of the touch interface.

I do not know what the plans are to support mobile,
Can we stay away from adding a specific "mobile" interface ?

in my experience, any web site that implements that makes it a painful experience, many features are lost, only to gain bigger fonts

SMF has no special "mobile" skin or theme. No plans for putting in one either.

I like a mobile theme to choose from. For me it is not perfect. Anything but.

Usable. But not good.

You will not lose anything if the mobile theme is optional and does not try to become yours by obligation.

While we are on that subject.
Tapatalk, a combination of forum side plugin and mobile app was just discovered sending user information to their servers with the latest version....
Just a heads up, but from the post above I assume that this will not show up here ;-)

I never use Tapatalk.

But a mobile theme is just another few lines in a CSS.

I will search the Web for SMF mobile themes, free ones preferrably

I think there should be a Mobile Theme. Too important these days not to have one.
However, Themes should always be choosable even on Mobile.

That said, I'm not sure SMF has any kind of Mobile Theme. Eventually I will look into it.

The SMF Theme site has mobile themes, but most seem to go to commercial offerings. Not ideal seen from my point of view, but then I denounce smartphones anyway. My prerogative and nothing I need to defend.

Just find something that works and we cover the expenses from the site funds. No big deal. Do ensure the theme can be run in a test mode and easily removed if it doesn't work to satisfaction.

I told you I pay for the first year of the aformentioned commercial theme. It ist 15 Euro a year.
