Left or right?

I have been seeing some images from photographers in action and I´m curious

My right eye, which is my master eye. 

For those of you who don't now how to find out, hold your arms straight out in front of you and make a triangle with your thumbs and index fingers.  Pick a focal point, place it in the middle of your hand's triangle.  Now, while keeping both eyes open, slowly bring your hand in to your face while keeping the focal point in the center of your hand's triangle.  You will find your triangle will find it's way to your master eye.  Your other eye just provides stereo depth.

While it would be better to use my right eye so I could monitor what happens outside of the lens, I just can't and use my left eye. Which also puts my nose into a position to toggle the AF point ;-(

I switch, but lately I use my left eye (which is better without glasses) and can be corrected in the viewfinder diopter.

I made some research -wiki- and it is suppose to be 2/3 right and 1/3 left dominant eyes in general. No other significant meaning to it that I can find. So far: 50/50 for nikongear

  I´m a lefty, my nose is always smearing the screen...

I use my left eye to look into the viewfinder, which was benefitial when I was using rangefinder film cameras like Leica M or Fuji GW680: I could hold the camera closer to the vertical center of my body.  I know you can see the srrounings when you use the right eye, but in this way, I feel awkward.

Asian guys with smaller noses enjoy the benefit in the digital world.

Not sure if it is a subconscious choice or not but I started my ' serious photography ' in 1969 with a second hand Leica 3a, they had not reached collectors status back then so were the cheapest quality camera I could afford. The tiny viewfinder/rangefinder window was at the extreme left end ( as you hold the camera ) of the body, using the right eye would have the camera extending unsupported effectively over my right shoulder. I have remained  left eyed for the remaining 50 years or so with my various Nikon SLR/DSLR's I may have a slight misshapen nose now but my days if trying to look good are long gone 😎

This is why I prefer the SLR style to the rangefinder style.

The rangefinder style is even more awkward when you hold the camera in portrait orientation, either with the right hand high or low.

Also left for me - and I close my right eye. When I try to remember to keep the right eye open to look beyond - I get disorientated

I use my right eye, but this makes me wonder what would happen if I tried to use my left eye.
