Not sure how well it will work, but it is a good idea. The Gotcha! is that it uses an integrated battery that only takes 180 shots before recharging, so no way to "shoot all day" by changing battery packs, unless I got it wrong. SOny has the QX100 coming out that is similar with a Zeiss lens.

The advantage of DXO is that it is connected directly to the iPhone instead of Wifi.  Sony Q series cameras look nice but they will drive you nuts when you try to connet it to your smartphone via WiFi before you can take the first image with it!

I hear you, but that battery problems is a big one. If we could swap out batterys, etc., that would work, but have one internal battery and a limit of 180-200 shots. That is NOT enough IMO. What are we supposed to do, carry two DXO Ones?

Akira: The next generation of Thunderbolt will use the USB Type C connector, Apple will likely go "all in" with USB Type C on at least all their OSX devices. The question is whether it will replace the lightning connector as well? I personally hope they will, just think a few years ahead and you'll have basically all devices using the same connector.

Michael, I would have to say that this very camera is not for such an enthusiast photographer as you!  180-200 images per "going out" should be enough.

Jørgen, I agree with you in terms of the common connector for any devices of any brands.  The problem is that the modern connectors are too flimsy.  I suspect any current connector will go loose or defunct after you attach/detatch such a camera for a few times!

The psychological limitation of 180-200 shots is a killer for me. I don't shoot that many shots (unless I am stacking), but I don't want to be told I can't. In my D810 I use a 128GB card and a 64gb card, just for safe measure. If they had a changeable battery, I would probably get  a DXO ONe for family use.

Well, yes, that was too good to be true.

But the modern design of digital camera inporprates some sort of noise reduction even on the analog output signal from the sensor before it is converted to digital signal.  So, it is impossible to judge the literal sensor performance based on the RAW files in the first place.
