Mary Lou and I headed out to Seal Beach for a walk on the pier and some dinner.
Gary, Seal Beach and Waki Sushi photos are beautiful.
Enchilada and sparkling wine look very tempting.  :D

Thanks Frank. I used the "Sale" photo for an article about unoccupied buildings and shops in the center, and got remarks via FB about the resemblance with the 'Ziggy Stardust' cover K.West.

Apart from the rain, a small stroke of sun lit the shoppers on a parking lot

Beautiful shot John, so as those "bicycle-flowers".

Thanks, it was not that cold, only about -20°C   :D
Snow crystals keep well at that temperature.

Fons, Toposs really threw me  :( Couldn't figure out what game was called Toposs  ;) .  OK, got it now, they are probably doing relatively better than my Chelsea FC  :'( .

I just received the lens from a friend but he had unfortunately already sold the adapter so a real pain not being able to play with it.  That image looks absolutely normal (and very colourful with great colours ) .  I don't want normal   ;D
Cheers,
Tom

OK normal, mine comes with 2 adapters one glassless so no infintiy, one with glass for infinity, its a rather old version with an aperture preset ring

Today 15th Jan is "Makar Sankranti" Festival in India and it's a holiday.

"Makar Sankranti" is a Hindus festival celebrated in almost all parts of India, Nepal and Bangladesh in many cultural forms. It is a harvest festival.. "Makar Sankranti" marks the transition of the sun into the zodiacal sign of Makara (Capricorn) on its celestial path. The day is also believed to mark the arrival of spring in India; yes technically winter is over :D. It's 29°C/84°F right now anyway, in Bangalore!
Especially today, my grandma and my mother used to make a bengali sweet made with rice flour dimsum filled with coconut, milk cream and date palm jaggery -- known as 'Pitha'.

In some states especially in Gujarat, this festival is celebrated by flying kite. Sky will be full with kites in every direction. This year they are even celebrating International Kite Festival. In Bangalore, not so much. I noticed hardly one or two kites in the sky.
While the sun was setting, I saw this family walking back home with a kite. The scene made me very happy!

Nice pic, and thanks for your explanation about the 'Makar Sankranti'.  Must be a joy with those temperatures  ;)

Well, here it's still grey, cold, rainy, and snow is expected...

Gary, I could really handle a Sushi Bar with Happy Hour (if a good Sake was available) .  Neither is readily available here  :( .  I had totally forgotten about Seal Beach.  Is the Weps Station still there?  I like that cool 'sport convertible'  :)
Tom

Tom- Yes it is. Between Long Beach and Seal Beach there is still a sizable Naval presence in the area.  I would love to get inside one of the bunkers just for a look around.

@ John Geerts- The Bike Flowers brought a smile to my face ... regardless of the season that will always be a Spring bike.

@ Tommyjeep- Those colors are glowing. (Radioactive?)

@ Øivind Tøien- Man ... I love your cold weather stuff. (I'm not quite sure if your images are keeping me from driving up to the snow or fuel my desire to drive up to the snow.)
