Thanks Frank. I used the "Sale" photo for an article about unoccupied buildings and shops in the center, and got remarks via FB about the resemblance with the 'Ziggy Stardust' cover K.West.

Apart from the rain, a small stroke of sun lit the shoppers on a parking lot

Thanks Fons and Frank. This bird comes closer than the others which are very shy. It grabs the last seeds very close to the home and thus pays a lot of attention to what's happening around and offers a wider range of expressions and interactive behavior.

@ John:  Yeah, winter is pretty mild out here. What is really nice is that the mountains/snow is less than an hour away, the beach is 30 minutes away, LA/Hollywood is 30 minutes away, wine country is 90 minutes and the desert is two hours away.  I have Hummingbirds and butterflies in the backyard year long. If you could put up with horrible traffic, high taxes, high housing costs and no parking ... you would probably like this place.

Gary, I could really handle a Sushi Bar with Happy Hour (if a good Sake was available) .  Neither is readily available here  :( .  I had totally forgotten about Seal Beach.  Is the Weps Station still there?  I like that cool 'sport convertible'  :)

Gary: The picture of the fatty protein mix was a real challenge to my stomach this morning. The wine was tempting, but, no thank you not before work, and -- I thought -- since the Terminator terminated his assignment in your state you lost your "banana republic" status ***rotfl***

Fons, Toposs really threw me  :( Couldn't figure out what game was called Toposs  ;) .  OK, got it now, they are probably doing relatively better than my Chelsea FC  :'( .

I just received the lens from a friend but he had unfortunately already sold the adapter so a real pain not being able to play with it.  That image looks absolutely normal (and very colourful with great colours ) .  I don't want normal   ;D
