After the Storm
« on: December 31, 2015, 16:18:06 »
Atlantic Storm Frank has come and gone, and we have had 18 hours of calm after the chaos. River levels are slowly dropping.

The image shows a 25-acre field where my friend Anthony often grazes a large herd of cattle, but not today.

Nice, serene landscape there Dave ...

I'm curious as to what is growing underneath that smooth lake surface.

Thanks, Bjørn.

Normally this is excellent pasture-land and grows a rich crop of grass. But as it has now been wholly or partially flooded for 3 weeks and I don't know how long grass survives total immersion. The stuff visible in the shallows near to camera is just the detritus of flooding.

Dave, you mean this is NOT a landscape beyond a lake?  This is rather shocking!  The image itself looks serene and lovely nevertheless.

Funny that the storm was named Frank.  :D

Happy New Year David. Lovely shot. Looks like a good spot for a salmon farm.
