Camera doesn't matter.

Tristin,
I think the first two shots are very good.
The first, which I think is the best of the three photos,  being in black and white has that gritty photojournalistic look, and because of the angle, the framing and the intrusion of the "Vacancy" sign in the foreground makes me think it was shot "from the hip" so to speak, which is to say while the camera was not at eyelevel.
The subjects body language, and the bits of trash at her feet all combine to tell a story of poverty and despair.
The second is an interesting environmental portrait, although not as strong as the first shot.
I think that had you moved back a bit and captured a bit more of the subjects surroundings, the photos impact would have been greater.
Overall, very nice work.
