Frank's image show a good interaction (familiarity?) with the two kids. Perhaps there is material to refine further as two separate photographs?

Kita's image shows wonderful response to the camera's presence. No stiff poses there!! Perhaps cropping away the fliuorescent tube reflected on the right hand side?

Both images display an immediate connectioon between depicted persons and the photographer. So even were one image not to be satisafying, it should be easy to repeat the exercise.

I like the idea of the horizontal stack of smiles!

Gotta keep the florescent tube to keep the entire poster in for context's sake...

Here's the old lady...this time smilin'...from a shot take 'from the hip'

....and another few "shot from the hip" of dancing students...with plenty of joy...

Kitanikkor: I am really happy with the second picture in post #5 because of the way the girl in the middle stands out from the others: movementwise, expressionwise and as she is framed by the other characters not in direct connection to her, more presenting themselves.

Jakov Minić: You did not comment yet.

Bjørn Rørslett: Thank you for the comments, now dig into your archives

Kitanikkor: You did post 4 pictures that makes 12 comments to be expected

Jakov Minić: I have seen that pic before in the selfie section: I feel it not to be ideal that the girls hair covers her eyes ... the boys seem to be happier than the girl .. or am I wrong?

Thanks Frank....
That pic of the dancers is my favorite of the set not only for their joy, but for the unplanned unpredicted happy happenstance of that girl framed by the others, THEIR eye lines forming the circle around her, captivating OUR attention.

Another interesting thread.

Frank's first post is beautiful. Pure joy. I really like the tone in the photo. Kids are always joyful and that makes it an easy example or may be not! I don't see such perfect shots often. :)

Jakov's photo is great example of pure joy. It looks so natural. Did you take this shot using remote or self-timer or long-hands?  :P

Kita's old lady in reply#5 - I don't see joy. She is just smiling, what I see. And, smile doesn't mean joy necessarily, and again may be that's how I feel! Other photos, I find very joyful and happy moments. Although processing and framing doesn't intrigue me.. which are again matter of personal taste and it's totally fine as long as their contributor likes them.

In my opinion, there could be joy without a smile as well. So, here's my attempt:

Man eyeballing popsicle, I see joy in his eyes. (Sorry about repost!)

P.S: Earlier today I downloaded and playing with "Nik Analogue Efx"
P.P.S: Ok, I will comment on 3 more photos.

Anirban it was taken with an 8mm fish-eye, hence no long arms were necessary :)
Thanks!

Arniban: Frankly I do not consider both a particular expression
of joy but I like both as pictures.

My entry.

Taken at the "Festival of Lights" somewhere in the Bay Area, I forget where even though it was only a few days ago. I was aiming for the reflections on the car; the joyous faces are pure luck.

The first of the dancing students pictures really does it for me. There is something uninhibited and really committed to enjoyment about it. They trust each other enough to do this.

Frank's "children behind a rail" is great but I only get joy from the right hand child, sorry.

Jakov's picture is pure joy. And also passes the "I'm curious how he did that" test.

Damian: the girl is more energetic. The boy more silent. Expression of joy can take different forms.

The car is a Ford Sedan? Should is not be a Model S? *ggg*
