The smoker
« on: December 19, 2015, 18:20:15 »
Chinatown, here in Toronto.
Taken last summer, I noticed a well-dressed Asian man striking a pose as he stood and smoked.
I liked the scene and grabbed this shot.
Nikon S3 rangefinder
Cosina Voigtlander 25 f4 in Nikon S mount manual focus
Fujichrome 100 ISO colour slide
5.6 @ 1/125th

I shoot with film. That's film. F...i...l...m. You remember film. It was in all the papers.

It looks like the photo was created at least two decades ago, a classic :)

Fujichrome / Sensia always was my favourite.

I had an EDDING permanent marker on me always.

Marking the film rolls: 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600.

That film can bare a lot of push processing. And the colour stability is astounding.

The only thing that might suffer ist the saturation.

Sensia100@ISO1600 is still better than Fujichrome800@ISO800

Pushing 4 stops might seem a stretch, but in the case of Fujichrome / Sensia it is not.

Get me a good scanner and I show you 800 and 1600 pushs. Always @f=1.4, FM2, 50mm

PS: concering the picture I feel the expression is great but the technicals are beyond your usual level.
