Repro Nikkor anyone?

Perhaps the rarest Repro Nikkor among the known ones, the 170mm f1.4, is on eBay:

Although there is now usual "may not ship to Japan" disclamer, all the description is quoted, probably without permission, from the "Redbook Nikkor" website by the famous Japanese collector of industrial Nikkor lenses Mr. Akiyama. 

Nevertheless, the lens should take the Heligon 100/1.5 users to another level!

It's twice as long and one stop slower. So about the same behaviour, I'd guess.

Or, it should be similar to that of 300/2.8 at the same magnification factor.

Bill, maybe you are right.  I've seen other offerings of rare Nikkors on ebay stealing Mr. Akiyama's webpages.

That's a serious price for a single lens. What's so special about it, other than it being rare?
