Actually the source code for v1.01 is available for download for anyone who want to study it privately:
http://www.computerhistory.org/atchm/adobe-photoshop-source-code/

It was written in Pascal.

Well, I would have to confess that I enjoyed watching such advanced pro photogs behaving like amateurs!  That's funny!

Thanks, Elsa, for sharing!    :D

I remember it all. I had email in 1979, and ran large music and film sites before the World Wide Web existed. Back then the were called "Gopher Sites."

Pascal ! wow, I used it while in college and I really enjoy it, then I got a job, learned C , never looked back

and back on topic, I remember the icon of the eye , but it couldn't be PS 1.0 because when I saw it was sometime in the late 80s, probably v2 by then ? I have no idea

I still use Photoshop 2.0.1 on my PowerBook G3 laptop running Mac OS 9 to acquire raw data from my Kodak DCS200mi (via SCSI connection).
Works great! ;)

I still have Photoshop 2 on its original 3.5" disk which (before the policy change) allowed me to upgrade from Photoshop 2 to CS (1).
