The inverted forest
« on: November 05, 2015, 08:59:46 »
I had a wonderful day on 3rd November - at night a strong aurora and many shooting-stars (already posted), and all during daylight hours an inversion which filled our valley with dense mist . But a little-used road leads up into the hills where you are above the clouds.

This is a detail picked out as sunset colours began to show, and there were many such opportunities.

I like the timing, perfect to show the streaks of light through the treetops.

Very nice image! I have been hunting for one of these for quite a while!
I would love to see other versions, if you have any!

Thanks, everyone - I had a great time shooting a whole series of images - maybe I'll post one or two more.

Thanks, Jørgen.

David: What camera and lens were used?

Michael - it may come as a surprise - D600 with the 70-200/f4 VR; both chosen for their qualities/abilities. but also for their lightness and hand-hold-ability. I have a disability myself and rarely carry a tripod if any hiking is involved.
