Thanks Dogman. Yes, she's a handful but we wouldn't want to miss her for the world.

Looks like a lovely dog. Never heard about Labradoodles before.

Hi Bent, Yaiza is an Australian Labradoodle. A popular dog in the Netherlands. These dogs are so-called hypoallergenic, so in fact the only kind of dog my wife and I can have because we're both highly allergic. Because these dogs are popular a lot of unreliable breeders offer puppies, often with health problems. We chose a 100% reliable breeder which meant we had to wait for 1 year due to a waiting list.

The past 9 months I've been very busy with Yaiza, our mini Labradoodle. Yaiza is the name of a beautiful, small village on Lanzarote our favorite Canary island. This is our first dog and the first months were exhausting, especially for me as my wife is still working and planning to do so for a few more years. Now Yaiza is 9 months and calmed down. It's such a warm and loving feeling having her with us.

I had a  blast with this lively bunch. They are so much fun, positive energy. There we were going to a choreographic meeting. They are the winners from every conservatoire in the andalusian region. Very nice evening.
  They are the future!

Oops!

The scene: a rural grocery store.

3 or 4 year old youngsters often want to help with family tasks. One young lady, traveling far faster than her mother, became distracted and her cart/trolley collided with a 125L cask of pickles. The girl was not hurt. apart from a bit of brine slopped onto the floor over the top of the barrel the cooperage withstood the impact, and the store owner, when informed of the incident, laughed and told the mother not to worry; this was not the first time that a kid had run into something and that the cart/trolley was easily straightened.

A very nice looking grand-dog Luc, and she is an Aussie! Oi, Oi, Oi!  ;D

Advice required on Smartphone Photo apps
« Reply #297 on: August 04, 2024, 17:43:43 »
Can any of you advise on Smartphone Photo apps?
Specifically:
  • Ones that will work on Android
  • Ones that allow you to choose settings, most importantly the focus distance
Why?
My Google Pixel 6 takes generally good photos.
However if I attempt closeups, it nearly always finds something else nearby to focus on
The flower in the image below is a good example of this.
If I had the option of "manual focus" I could avoid this.......but so far I haven't found a way.

Note - on previous Samsung phones, I had the option to change:
- ISO
- Aperture
- Shutter speed
etc

Whilst Google have put a lot of work into software to do background-enhancements of the images on their Pixel phones, they also seem to have an AI module called "choose a different focus point from what Colin's interested in"
:(

Colin
I have  samsung

The camera has a "pro" mode that has manual focus, along with speed iso, wb

I find the interface very sensitive to my touch, say I want to set the speed to 1/10 , but as soon as I lift my finger the value will jump a significant mount to + or -
I find it unuseable

In 3x zoom , the af pretty much stays where I want it

In normal or wide lens mode it gets distracted by busy background

I'm not sure this comment helps ... ?
