Thank you Akira. The moon was the first thing that called my attention and I tried to figure out why at that moment. This is what came up

Thank you, Jakov.  Interesting observation.  I never thought about Athens.  Maybe the grey walls of the houses look like very underexposed white?

It is always challenging to render dark areas without blowing out the surface of the moon in one shot.  The dual base ISO system of the latest full frame cameras including Sigma fp made it possible.  I haven't tried HDR yet, though.

Nice moon cityscape Akira!

Here are a couple of moon rises behind Alaska Range in mid September, Hess Mountain to the left and Mount Deborah right. The latter is 135km away and rises about 3600m above the flats in the foreground that are only 160m above sea level. (Mount Hayes well out of the frame on the left side shown in this thread, https://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=3952.msg163468#msg163468 is even higher and rises 4216m above sea level.) Inversion layers make things a bit blurry in the distance. I had planned get back to it when the moon reached the deeper gap between the mountains, got hung up elsewhere so I missed it, and it was already too dark when I returned.

We could agree that the moon rise is one of the most spectacular moments for the moon shooters.  While the small aircraft gives a nice touch to the first image, I like the second one for its atmosphere and majesty.

The rising crescent moon should be my next target!

Astrospheric, https://www.astrospheric.com/ (for clear sky and sun/moon rise in North America) and the planetarium application Stellarium is what I use for planning. However some captures are opportunistic - it is not practical to always carry a tripod but I just about always have the D500 and the 300PF with me, and the VR then comes in handy for those captures.
