Using PhotoPills as planning tool which I highly recommend (at least for a beginner as me).

Looks like the software made the foundation of a successful photograph :D

Thank you Birna 😊 Still have a lot of blurriness: I was photographing from a room with an open window on the cold outdoors; may be not stabilized enough.

I like it very much as is.  I wouldn't sacrifice the colour or the foreground for a clearer view.  And I particularly like how the light just catches the crater rims around the dark edge - two prominent ones are Pythagoras at 12:00 and Grimaldi at about 9:30.  Rain in the forecast here so I doubt we'll see it tonight.  Cheers,  John

Nice one, Marco.  Was this a single, in-camera exposure?

Here is one taken a few years ago. The speed of the moon in the viewfinder was incredible at this magnification. A minor crop of the whole frame.

Christian and Borge, your extreme closeups are amazing!  I know that the moon travels unbelievably fast even in much lower magnification (like through a 300mm lens on FX).  How long the lenses you used were?

Thank you Akira  ;) Mine, 400mm, but heavily cropped i.e. up to 2000 x 2000 px from a D850 full resolution capture.

Thank you for the details.  So, it should be an equivalent of well over 1000mm!
