Bruno and Steen, those are 3 realy nice captures with a lot of atmpsphere!
Jaw dropping Øivind!
The clarity of the moon is unbelievable. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that it is shot so far north?
The blues and sharpness of the barn is so special. Which setup did you use?
Thank for the kind words Jakov. The cold here up north creates inversion layers which typically are troublesome, but then it helps to shoot more vertically through them when the moon is at its highest in the sky. The barn was captured with my Nikon 12-24mm @ 24mm and f/8 on my D7100, 10s at ISO 800, processed in CNX2 as usual. I have learnt that it is critical to get the focus set correctly with this lens due to some field curvature, so I typically set it manually (based on previous experimentation) when working near infinity, and especially with night captures like here. I would normally use wider aperture for night shots, but the moonlight was so bright and the stars were not the main subject. I also think the snow on the branches helps to define the clarity of the image.
