Very nice Bjørn! These pictures are truly graphic masterpieces. Eddie, great capture! The red against the blue sky pleases the eyes.

Børge: That eagle had to make a run for it ... Perfect framing to enhance the graphic impact.

Eddie: Beautiful execution. I'm impressed.

Very inspirational images Bjørn, Eddie and Børge. Thanks for sharing them.
I couldn't comment on each of them, but each photos you have posted shows how far "out of the box" possibly anyone could visualize (and pre-visualize).  Thanks again!

Thanks go to you too :D

I frequently hear the strange statement "everything has been photographed. There is nothing more to discover in photography". Is that really so?

The obvious answer is just "try again". There are are no limits as to what and how something can be photographed other than those restrictions we carry in our own mindset and imagination.

To better understand the above, compare my previous photo and this one*, taken the same day, from the exact same vantage point, same camera and lens, within minutes of the previous frame,

*(I think this has been posted before, so bear over me, it is presented here as 'evidence' to prove a major point)

... the story continues ...

Now, what was the reason for me to propel myself to this location? It was the breaking up of ice on a small lowland river that I most conveniently could document from a bridge running over it. Thus this was (part of) the scenery that I saw at first, ie. what one observed *before* the eyes commenced to look at the scene itself and what resided there.

Again, same camera, same lens, and each within minutes of the next frame.

(for this picture, it is pretty obvious that the Zoom-Nikkor 80-200/4 has a focus shift in IR. The zoom creep comes in play as well. The image lacks critical sharpness. As the D200 has no Live View, I didn't catch this issue properly at the time. Thus I'm reminded to use alternate camera supporting LiveView should I continue using this zoom lens for IR. The D5300 now has replaced the D200 for this , and other, reasons.)

I frequently find myself thinking what you wrote Bjørn. Framing a scene differently is quite a challenge sometimes. One have to use all the tools in the toolbox. Creativity comes and goes like the waves in the ocean. And sometimes I´m not even close to the beach ;)
