I think this fits the bill as far as minimalist goes.  ;)

A minimalistic image plays with a minimum of visual components. In themselves these don't need to be simple. They may be rendered sharp or merely implied. There is no rule set in stones to control this. However, something inside the frame should puzzle us and stir our curiosity, or make us respond emotionally. At times, we can be overwhelmed as to what we'd expect to be present, but has been deliberately left out.

So your fence fits the concept, Bruno ...

I think this Anemone nemorosa has been posted before, but present it again as an illustration of the opening paragraph and the principles outlined therein.

According to Bjørns helpful definition regarding 'minimalism'  this might qualify ;)

It is easy easier to grasp when you express it that way. A question I often have in mind is what's the minimum I should show to convey the feeling, in front of the Minster in York 3 months ago for example. Showing everything did not convey the feeling of the mass of the building. The question for me was of the minimum needed to get the "implied". Your paragraph made these things click in place.
I understood something this evening :). Thanks.

There is evidently an unlimited supply of these images. So please guys, do keep bringing them on.

A small contribution of mine using the elusive AF Nikkor 200 mm f/3.5 ED-IF.

Some lenses have the potential to create perfectly minimalistic images from the get-go. However, it is still the task of the photographer to direct such a lens to a suitable target, and envision a suitable framing.

MATI Navitar 86 mm f/1.2 belongs to this class of minimalistic-creating optics. The lens is quite unusual and as it to my knowledge hasn't attracted the attention of collectors, can be had for modest prices (yet). It shares much of the minimalisation power of the better Heligons,  but can boast of an adjustable aperture from f/1.2 to f/8 in half-stop clicks. Its bokeh is beyond reproach.

My understanding is that the 86/1.2 was made in the US for Kodak photo duplicators.

(see now that the sensor of the camera used at the time (D2X) was very dirty, so don't blame the lens)

The implied messages are all around us if one cares to look.

Taken with the humble 43-86/3.5 Nikkor, by the way.
