So good to see NikonGear crew & The Fierce Bear here
« on: June 16, 2015, 18:25:48 »
Greetings from Atlanta -

It is wonderful to see so much of the NikonGear crew gathered here: my gratitute to Bjørn - and to all who are volunteering their time for this shared community.

I joined NikonGear back in 2007, drawn by Bjørn's insights, and the extraordinary quality of shared information and images - and it is bloody good to see so many of you all here again.

I look forward to wading through folks' introductions, new posts and reposts over time - when things slow down a bit (so apologies in advance for my absences).

I primarily do portrait and stage work in metro Atlanta, and regionally as far as Charleston and Houston - and I love shooting architectural, nature and invisible-light work as time allows.  I prefer ambient light when feasible - supplemented when needed/indicated, and shoot almost exclusively flash in the studio.

As a former dancer, my great passion is dance and dance stage work - and my wife is a ballet choreographer and instructor, and is the subject of much of my non-client photography.  We love living and working together in Atlanta - but wish we had the time and resources to go exploring your favorite haunts.  That said, we look forward to all that is shared here: technical, creative, artistic, personal, etc.

Wishing everyone a wonderful summer and balance of the year!

great to have you on board. I dreamt of becoming a dancer when I was 19, but later became a writer and photographer. I need a silent camera with a longer lens though not to disturb the dance while taking photos. I just tried the X100T to shoot dancing, but 35 equiv is a tad short...
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

Hi Scott! My greatest single inspirational event was watching Rudolph Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn dance together in Swan Lake and Les Sylphides back in the 1960s. I walked around in a daze for weeks afterward
