I really like the composition and the contrast between lights and darks. Great atmosphere.

Reminds me that is great time to visit Wine makers on weekends. The mist that is rising over the vineyards and little rivers is always a great vista.

Thank you, Thomas, Peter and Frank.

Frank - even here, people make wine (including my wife) but grapes have to be grown indoors; not enough hot sunshine to ripen the fruit and create the sugars.

Actually that's just what I need for a current poster project; Leaves, greens, sun rays and mist...

Ahhhhh I like it David!

Gorgeous scene you've caught here. My local hills are nowhere near as serene as this. Thanks for sharing.

I'll be a bit of the contrarian here ... while I like it ... I want to see more. Not in the sense of FOV, but rather in intensity and visual impact. I know your stuff David ... I expected a bit more with all these elements spread out before you and your camera.

Thank you all - Erik, Charlie, Mike and Gary - for your comments; much appreciated.

Gary - in my own defence - this was a very difficult file to process. The scene as originally viewed and captured had almost no colour and no contrast due to the mist, so the result you see is heavily PP-ed - much, much more than is normal for me. So this image is partly a work of deduction or even imagination, and not everyone will like it. Also, I began to have similar thoughts and after posting did quite a bit more with the image. Rather than post a new version of the same image, I am posting another from the same series, in which a subtle shift in the mist allowed more natural colour and contrast to come through, so I had a lot more to work with from the start. Let me know!

Heavily PP'd or not, I prefer the first version. For me, the fore- and right middle ground make the image because of the warm, subtle lighting. I don't see this in the second image.

Dave, very nice image with layers of interest.

However, i'm with Gary somehow, i'm missing some strong foreground interest. I understand your comment on the difficulty of the raw file, but perhaps more emphasis the foreground bush (middle bottom on the ledge) would solve that.

Of course, i am certain i couldn't have pulled off even a half decent image given the situation, so well done!
