Hello to all
« on: October 10, 2015, 03:50:51 »
It's good to see familiar names around here from the former Nikongear site and Ultravioletphotography.com, in particular Bjørn and Andrea who helped me so much at the latter site.  I'm in the northern part of California, in the USA.

My current interests are in landscape photography (especially in relatively remote parts of the American west), and ultraviolet and infrared photography. I've also done a little bit of astrophotography and macrophotography.   The past couple of years have not cooperated well with my pursuit of these interests due to work and health, but things are starting to look up a bit and I'm hoping to get back out into the wilds soon where I thrive and where I'm most inspired.

I look forward to learning a lot from the folks here who are more experienced and knowledgeable!

Bill

Thank you, Jørgen and Peter!

I have not gotten out to the wilds much recently but I just posted a couple of old shots over in the Nature forum.  It may be a few more months until I get out into the real wilds, but the promise of an alleviation to our drought via an El Niño bodes well for local nature shots in the coming months.  I much prefer the low-sun months for landscape and nature photography.

Hola Bill. Welcome to the forum. Like you, all of us Californians are all hoping for a big El Nino. (Hoping for the worst, I just finished installing some rain gutters.)

Thank you, Gary.  I hope we do get a lot of rain, and snow in the mountains.  A side benefit could be some good shooting weather.

Bill, welcome from the southern part of the state. There are clouds down here today and they are gorgeous, but nothing is falling out of them  :)
