Very tall, legs close together, mid column raised to near maximum, heavy medium-format camera --- don't expect too much in terms of solid support :D

He tied down his hat - probably very wise measure. By the way, the jacket is Jan Anne's favourite brand too :D

Working in a maritime setting with strong wind is about the only time I would consider using a protective filter on a lens. Much easier to clean off salt deposits and grime from a filter than from the front of the lens. Plus seawater residues are fatty and often cause smears when you try to remove them.

My wife photographing the Swiss mountains near Realp, Andermatt, I think she was a little fed up with my frequent stops so decided to remain in the car for this one :-)

That is a case for which zoom lenses can be advantageous :D
