Good captures Anthony.

I expect the second guy gets business from a few people.....but what a way to spend your day!

Thanks, Colin, Venice was a last minute decision a couple of weeks ago to take advantage of the lack of tourists and cruise ships.

I think the business model of the second guy is doomed, as most tourists spend their time taking their own selfies. I have to say that my sympathy for him is diminished because he sets up his stand right in the middle of one of the world's great views!

Thanks, Jacques and Jakov.

Our hotel was at 20% occupancy and I guess that reflected Venice as a whole.

For years I have applied the words of Yogi Berra to Venice:  "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."  So the opportunity to go there at this time was not to be missed.

No actual action here, but this is me in 1962.

The tenuous thread is that behind me is a Riley,  made by the company British Leyland (which Fons reminded me is probably the British subdidiary of the Dutch partner)

No b&w conversion needed and low quality due using a smartphone on a 5x5cm print

No-no I didnt mean that it should be British Leyland, there was indeed a Dutch subsidiary they took care of business on the continent, as well as building busses, Stokvis assemblage.
Here is a wikipage that may interest you many of these carbrands where absorbed into British leyland, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_car_manufacturers_of_the_United_Kingdom

No worries Fons , text updated

So all's fine and thank you for opening my eyes to this history.

By the way the photographer was probably my mum.

OK, nice photograph btw. ;)

I'll pass that on to my mother!!!

No idea what camera they would have had, but these prints go back to the days when you often took your film to the local pharmacy (or of you were lucky, photo shop)
