Apparently, flying a drone is mandatory for today's nature photographers  ....

(fellow nature photographers and friends: Kai-Wilhelm Nessler operates the drone, while Ove Bergersen admires it)

A drone is familiar now, but this particular image looks interestingly surreal.

Superb catch!

Thanks Akira, I have seen this phenomenon a few times, this time probably the best one. As I recall from an article, sitting in the middle of the plane is an advantage in this respect.

Yes, indeed.  The part of the wing in the frame makes the Blocken spectre more impressive.

Time to revive this thread. Plenty of small planes in Alaska, here is one going in for landing in Fairbanks with Hess Mountain and Mount Deborah as backdrop almost 140 km away.

Good that you've revived this thread Oivind! Nice picture.

It's national lock-down here in The NL, so i'm browsing my photo database and processing images i hadn't processed before. Here one with some bats, shot at the Pont d'Arc (same outing as in https://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=1867.msg165584#msg165584). Bats captured by using flash to light up the foreground a bit, i didn't know they were there at the time. A composite of about 10 images for the stars (stacked in Sequator) and around 5 or so for various parts of the foreground.
