Thats a very nice picture. The really gentle roll off into the background colors and the blurred wings :)

A great capture.  The background is a bonus.

Tom, this is amazing!  I like the background color, too.

Thanks all  :)  A challenge to get, and keep, it in focus.   Shot from approx. 11 feet with the BG about 8 inches behind the bee.  Using Af-on and firing 3 shot burst before the AF goes and locks on the BG.  Last year I had better luck with the D750, 300 2.8 with tc1.7.  I would like to get closer but it is about 8 feet above the ground and my step ladder is pretty shaky  :( .   Added just a touch of contrast.   This may not be the sharpest but some have gaps in the BG with bright light coming through.

How did I manage to miss this thread? So incredibly many impressive shots.

Going back to 2008, I went to an airshow. It seems I using a D300 and was shooting jpg only then. I recall using the 70-200mm VRI + TC20. I'm no good at editing today, my skills were even more lacking back then.

We (Denmark) are about to decide on a new fighter jet to replace our current fleet of F16. Even though it seems to be the most expensive by far and have massive problems, the JSF is said to be the favorite. Here is one on display - no chance of seeing it flying back then I believe:

A competitor, which has since dropped out is the Swedish Gripen:

In 2008, I visited USA and the Kennedy Space Center. They have a Saturn V on display. If I recall correctly, it was supposed to be used, but the "moon program" was stopped, so it ended up on display there. It is a very impressive sight.

Tom, some amazing skills you've shown to capture the bee/fly like that.

Chris, I love the wide angle bird in flight.
Whenever I see these kind of images I ask myself how come I didn't try making them :)

Jørgen captured some impressive aircraft :)
