Stinky Bug

A Green Stink Bug!  This one focus stacks elements of 6, but mainly 2, frames at approximately 3:1 magnification.  I'm presently returning to process the many hundreds of bug photos I took when first acquiring a D3S.  It tried to exploit the high iso capability and frame rate of the camera in order to better balance the use of flash with ambient light and get some stack-able frames using hand-held technique.

I surmise it is also not the most stinky!  Indeed these are ugly creatures, fair game for the challenge of macro, in situ, but not pretty to hang on a wall!  ;)

Handheld stacking using strobe and high ISO on live animals

Quite a different cup of tea than Michaels technique.

Can you elaborate?
