Here is a quick edit in LR. I attempted to keep it subtle   :)

Thanks all. Many interesting interpretations here, but I am supposed to select a "winner", or pick the edit I like best. My vote goes to Hans Cremers (HCS) for the b/w version. I am a bit surprised to see how well the photo works in monochrome - I never tried it myself on that photo.

Pardon me for adding these 2 after the choice has been made!

Congratulations, Hans!

When I saw this thread I downloaded the file and did some postprocessing: one in BW (which is often a favorite of me for landscape) and one in color. And then I saw page 2 and the verdict. So I thought to add them just for fun.. I hope you don't mind.

When I saw the photo, the first thought I had was to create a bit of a Mount Doom effect in BW because of the light above the mountain.

I wanted to keep the color version more natural looking and just accentuate some parts.

Fun exercise! I am looking forward to the next one!

PS: And a beautiful photo to work with!

Wow! Thanks Bjørn J. ! Big honour for me, especially since i consider myself as a not so great post-processor.

I'll dig up an interesting file that needs work and post it in a new challenge thread. Need to find out how to do the dropbox trick.

Wait for it ...
