Finally the clouds are gone for a few days, and despite very low solar activity, great auroras appeared last night. A slight tilt in Earth's magnetic field let the solar wind in, setting fire to the colourful lights.
It was a dark moonless night, and with no snow on the ground the landscape is black, making it hard to find a foreground. All I found was the little tree, and I had to wade into the water to get it in the photos. It was extremely humid, the camera was soaking wet, and I had to wipe the front glass every 10 seconds.
