Using Zerene Stacker out of the Box
« on: September 08, 2015, 16:14:13 »
Today I decided to add another tool to my Algorithm workshop: Zerene Stacker.

Here is the very first attempt to check out its limits and I see that it has HUGE potential to be used outside its intended purpose for my work.
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

It looks like you put an image that does not belong in the stack... in the stack. This is what happens. As you pointed out, this is a tool we learn to use, unless you wanted the artifacts in your post.

Michael:  This is a layer of 4 Stacks with the idea to achieve a multi exposure kind of effect.

When I  aquire a new software tool I approach it in two ways:

1) thoroughly learn how to use it to perfection in the way it was designed to be used.

2) use the algorithms and settings to create strange and bewildering effects on purpose to extend my expression.

As for 2) most of these experiments are for the bin or not reproducible, but some are both: very cool, plannable and reproducible.

Look forward to unintended purposes...may even enjoy unintended consequences. Time will tell  :)

It could use a bit more DOF ... joking ... this is interesting and certainly outside my photographic envelope.
