Spectacular scene!  The downburst (?) gives a dynamism to the image.

thx all for the comments! about the equipment i used i didn't had much time to set everything up the way i like to do mainly because the drive to get there was much longer then we thought (you should hear my wife:) and the sun went down so quick so i took it on aperture priority what i almost never do when shooting landscapes.
The photo was taken on a tripod shooting with a D810 and 14-24mm taken on 14mm with the widest opening of this lens f/2.8 i should have gone for a more narrower aperture but it worked out fine although i miss some detail in the foreground.
thx again and sorry for not replying any sooner.

Yet another reason not to dispose of my 14-24.  There is no question that this scene was worth documenting.

Great location, great sky.

I'd like to see more of the terrain underneath this sky - did you take any others?

A heavy bulky cranky piece of gorgeous glass. I do not like it in the field, always anxious that the first grain of sand will ruin the mechanics of this airpump.

Idoors it is wonderful to use, outdoors for still life I rather use the 1.4/24G plus my ABSOLUTE panohead: http://shop.360precision.com/absolute/

Dramatic landscape, overlaid with the beautiful pastel pinks of the sunset. The cloudburst really does make it!

Cirque de Navacelles is a magic, I remember it with pleasure from when I visited in 2008.
Obviously I photographed it too, but your shot is better.
You seem to have taken the picture exactly from the opposite direction compared to mine.
