Slow response of NG site

Last couple of days, the response of NG site is veeeeeeey slow.  My Firefox browser sometimes (or rather often) displays warning of the certification error.

Nikon serial number expert Roland Vink told me that he was experiencing similar symptoms.

NG apparently has been "Cloudflared".

I'll raise a ticket with our provider. Done. Let's learn their response.

No answer yet from Support. Server logs tell a story of excessive bandwidth out the last week, which may be part of the underlying cause(s).

Response is up and down, but apparently a bit better.

However, later this year when our hosting plan is to be renewed, I'm afraid we have to do some cut-backs since the declining number of supporters will not cover enough of the running costs. Not sure how this pans out yet, but the NG community will be kept informed. Most probably we move to a less powerful server whilst keeping our disk quota as high up as possible.

I would rather be willing to accept a little bit of inconvenience, so long as NG can survive.

On the contrary, the official Japanese Nikon website responds frustratingly slow for the status of the company, which should be ashamed of.

By the way, do we really need "Gallery" section in NG?

As to your question, probably not. However that is a minor issue compared to others looming on the horizon.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Mmmm, the site was very slow or unresponsive on Monday 25th May.
Earlier on Tuesday w6th it was a little better.

But around 14:30 UK time it got much worse again.
At 15.45 UK time it's intermittent with this happening a lot

Though I think Birna has been sprinkling some magic on the servers, 
as by 19:00 uk time it's responsive again

Well, not sure about that ....

This darned 'cloud' existence drives me slowly mad. Now it works, now it doesn't, and in between it's superfast or super slow or something in between.

I'll restart the VPs server later this afternoon -- maybe a rebooting will help? Cannot hurt any way.

Had to do some extra rounds with online support since the NG server initially refused to restart after being stopped, but now our VPS hums along happiliy again. Or so it seems?
