Nikkor 85mm f/2 AI-S disassembly guide

This lens doesn't get much attention given the more famous 105mm and faster 85mms but its not terrible. wide open its hit and miss although some of that is misfocus and some of it is some veiling glare - many websites talk about this lens being quite poor wide open. certainyl for me f/4 and down its pretty good.  A few topics on this board about this lens with Roland having good success with his copy.

The tight optics retaining rings can be dangerous for slipping lens spanners and the front block rear retaining ring is a pain to spin off but its helicoids are easy. the rear mount has some funny things going on with it though with the aperture index tab being part of it...
