Yellowstone in Winter
« on: February 19, 2026, 17:28:35 »
I've spent a few days camping in Yellowstone (brrrrr!!!) and will leave tomorrow. Snow the past few days but a bit better today. I get a better appreciation for how the critters handle the weather.

Images with a Nikon D850. First two with a 70-300mm f5.6E, second two with a 200-500mm f4.5-5.6E.

Lotsa Nikon gear.
Lotsa Minolta gear.

Excellent depictions of these animals managing their survival in extreme conditions.

am freezing myself, looking at those pictures. I like them all, no 1 is my favourite as it shows a semingly unmotivated freezing bison

Amazing shots !
Camping in that weather ? you are brave!

I guess going to Yellowstone in this weather reduces the crowds to a minimum ... Lasst year  I passed through the park by the end of May and found the crowds unbearable
