Tips on using the FTZ (original w/ tripod 1/4-20)?

I use video tripod heads with 15 degree levelers. Arca-Swiss is my standard for tripod mounting cameras. I fabricate stuff from aircraft aluminum so I'm fine with making adapters for macro and telephoto lenses. The FTZ's tripod socket is higher than the Z8's so the FTZ can't be used with a simple lens plate. I will soon be using an RRS Arca-Swiss L-Plate with my Z8.

So advice from those who have gone before will be greatly appreciated.

Photos and links appreciated.

Thank you!

I bought one of these once, but haven't used it yet.  https://www.amazon.com/iShoot-Replacement-Compatible-Converter-Dovetail/dp/B08PYPKBVF
I had issues with adding an Arca clamp to a Sachtler head and gaining enough clearance to be able to turn the Arca clamp knob, and solved it it with this elevated clamp, an RRS PC-Pro. Look for used copies to save a few $$. As an extra bonus, this clamp rotates so can accommodate both possible orientations of the Arca plates.
Sunwayfoto makes a budget version of this clamp which works, but it's not nearly as robust as the RRS.  Maybe there are others on the market?

Thank you!

I've got a RRS L-Plate for the Z8 on the way.

I'll probably have to find time to fabricate something but I'll need the L-Plate before designing something.
