Far too many fatal mushroom poisonings here in Australia - some through misidentification where Asian people have mistaken poisonous mushrooms that very much looked like safe Asian varieties and of of course the now infamous recent death cap triple murder conviction.   Need truly expert advice before touching anything in the wild - advice from a fully practicing coward!  8).

After the rains, I found these two specimens in my garden. I don't know if they are edible. D200

Thanks, Hugh. I wouldn't touch them for anything. Once, in France, in the Dordogne, I ate a lepiota mortel and ended up in the hospital hallucinating.

Handsome portrait. It looks like a Bengal tiger.

A McDonald's has opened near where I live; they're everywhere and very successful.

At last we got a semblance of winter in my neighbourhood :)  I can do without the cold they currently experience deeper inland, though. Temperatures there fall below -35C at present.  That's way beyond my comfort zone, even with a heat exchanger mask.

Nikon Z fc, Nikkor 70-180Z. The latter is actually a pretty decent performer.

People get hooked on that food, and they have very good prices.
