This image is from 10 days ago, it still counts for the month I guess?  A little busy with the end of the trimester right now...
Seagulls are very used to humans here and you can get quite close before they fly away.

Thanks ARTUROARTISTA, Aninbald, Ann, Paco and John. It is always a joy when such chances present itself in a brief moment - in this case the only passerby during the hike. I posted a couple of more in the Trees thread: https://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=10439.msg214097#msg214097

My hike last night had another lucky encounter, this time not so brief. The roe deer are usually quite skittish, but the beam of my light might have worked as camouflage allowing me to be very close, and they did not seem to mind the beam much as long as it did not move too much. So to my joy I could just stand still and even slowly move forward taking in the moment of the roe deer grazing peacefully as they very slowly moved on. (Breaking the rule just to show how the moment developed, Z5II and 40mm lens.)
I even got time to record a short video clip https://youtu.be/OBmtCIsXsLs.
