The tower in the foreground and the towers at the foot of the mountain are very different,

  They should, they were constructed five hundred years apart for very different purposes. The one in the foreground is from the XVI century and used to signal the attack of pirates; the ones in Gibraltar were made very recently, gaining land to the sea and for luxury living.

   There is a local expression "Gribaltar con montera, levantera" meaning something like "Gibraltar with a hat, wind from the east" as the clouds have to jump over the rock and creates those formations.

Yes, those clouds look like a cap, a hat, in Cabo de Gata, the Pico de los Frailes, also had those clouds almost always, but not so big.

The stretch of Gibraltar as seeing from Tarifa. Today was a strong combination of overcast light and strong contrast with spots full of sunshine.

  There was traffic today, as usual. What you see at the background is -I´m pretty sure- the cranes at the port of Tangiers.
