The autumn colours at their peak in the mountains in southern Norway this week. Quite a few people with tripods were hanging around this popular spot in Rondane on a Monday evening. No other tourists, I think, only photographers (5-6 maybe). The Rondane mountain area have for several years been very popular for autumn photography, which often result in a lot of non unique photos. Regardless, the experience of being out in the fresh and crisp autumn air, surrounded by beautiful fall scenery, is worth taking with you, and photography helps me go out to collect these experiences.

Couldn't resist showing this image, taken almost precisely the same date 25 years ago: my former self debuting as a digital photographer in Dørålen. Those were the days.

Cool picture of the technical situation a quarter of a century ago Early adaptor to digital photography, Birna, it took me 5 more years to convert to digital, with the Fuji S3 pro.

My image is from the west side of Rondane, Storulfossen or "Bruresløret", the Ula River that flows down towards Otta. I thought I would go somewhere else than Dørålen this year, which indeed is Norways Yosemite, yes :-)
That’s understandable though, since Dørålen is a very reliable spot to see beautiful autumn colors with snow on the mountain peaks – and you hardly even need to leave your car.
