I agree the IR image looks nice, however it also seems curiously non-sharp and soft as far as details go. I wonder whether this is due to the non-disclosed 11-20mm lens, or the much less than optimal practice of keeping the file with a far too high pixel dimension combined with excessive jpg compression.
I did some tests to get a little more clarity on this matter. The problem clearly lies with the lens, incidentally the Nikon 10-20mm af-p dx (I made a typo). This is a cheap, light, and small lens (with a plastic mount). This lens, at least my copy, apparently does not perform well at the edges (only used for IR applications).
For the time being, I have switched to using the Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4 on the Z50. The results are better, but I lose a lot on the wide end. Maybe I should get the old Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 out of storage, but I seem to remember that it was very prone to flare.
