I find the green person at the back quite distracting.

Frank, I suggest to stick with version 1 (at an angle) and remove all of the lights above his head. However I found the incidental fuzzy green lady useful, adding some life and spontaneity. Not really distracting - the old man and his hair (as if electrically laden) are really too attractive.

Superb series, frank !

All these peoples don't seems to mind being photographed. And there is a very nice atmosphere.

I like the bishop...It's not a genuine one,  is it ? ;)

Frank, you could crop away the upper part with the lighting, unless you consider it the "crown" of the subject. For me it works. 3:2 ratio vertical is not what I prefer, especially on non-tilting monitors. N.B. I often try 5:4 or 4:3, to discover that I did not actually lose anything significant.

I'm not fan of the vertical 3:2 frame either: it's too long.  However, there are always exceptions to the rule.  I still like the original image, because the sense of height seems to be appropriate as a snapshot/portrait in a church.  Also, the "crown" and the arch (sorry, I don't know the technical word of the design or the part) in the background looks effective for the same reason.

As for the color, tha last one is too much vibrance/saturation.  The modest color of the original keeps its calm, serene feel.

Thank you all for helpful intervention. Very much appreciated.

Francis. The Bishop is a layman actor from a living history group as are all the others.

The people know me and trust me. I take photos there for 10 years now and visit mass with them nearly every
Sunday for about 5 years. I have all area all time access.
