Thanks Birna! Curious to know what kind of of attack it was.

Most attackers were using basic brute-force exploit requests aiming at account take-overs at site level. Others attacked our forum software directly, by trying to inject malicious payload via attachments.

A lot of different IPs launched attacks, but as the error sequences generated tended to be similar, probably some base scripts were put in action. Perhaps a concerted effort by a hacker group?

In the not unlikely event NG is again targetted in malicious manner, I'll take the site down immediately. However, since even I am only human and  net-based dangers lurk 24/7, there will probably be cracks in the first-line defense. We'll do our best to keep the ship afloat, however.

By coincidence, today the morning post brought me the part I was missing in order to complete the transition of a war-time 1942 1943 model Cooke Speed Panchro 1" f/2 to Z mount. All with keeping the lens focusable to infinity. Near limit is around 20cm. Image coverage suffices for DX, if some vignetting is tolerated. Thanks Paul H. for the lens that now finally found a home.

The lens is minute, has a peculiar way of setting aperture from the front using an outer rotating collar, and lacks any sign of coating. The finish is rough due to the war-time situation and priority of limited resources. To drive home the point, the  engraving states "WAR FINISH". The lens might have been used on a fighter plane to record combat hits (?).

I snapped a picture of it with Ultra-Micro-Nikkor 28mm f/1.8 on my V1.

Solanum tuberosum, perhaps better known under the name 'potato', as test target for the Cooke Speed Panchro 1" f/2. Don't let the name, age, and tiny apperance fool anyone into thinking this is old junk.

The sculpture 'Heptakord' (by Norwegian artist T.A.Eng) overlooking the infamous Victoria Terrace complex. "Infamous" because the building was the headquarter of Gestapo during WW2 and the basement had plentiful of small cells in which interrogation and torture took place.

Same species...!
The season here in Italy is obviuosly earlier... So many potatoes have already been transformed!
Here there are with some other Solanaceae... all grown by me, without any chemicals. So I can leave the skin of the tomatoes, which is good for our health!
