Nikongear 10 Years -- photo competition

Just let me stress that only NG members(incl. supporters) can participate.

If you want to try your luck, here is how:

1. Select a photo, taken with a camera in the period 10 June, 2015 until present
2. Pixel size should be maximum 2000 pix on the longest axis
3. File size should be 2MB or less.
4. Give the file a random name not including your name, camera, or similar information.
5. Send an email with the file attached to NG10Years@nikongear.net
6. Use your screen name ('nick') in the mail header.

Photos can be submitted from June 10th 00:01 CET until  June 20th, 2025  23:59 CET.

I will upload the contributions and set up the voting poll immediately thereafter.

NB: Any message sent to the given e-mail address not within the competition time window, or not titled with your screen name, will be deleted.

The window for submitting your entry to the competition opens at midnight!! and will be closed at midnight 20th June.

All entries will be shown anonymously numbered from #1 upwards. Do attach your screen name to the submission e-mail to allow the Admins to track the entries.

Do note that NO images will be posted and NO voting is possible until the submission period is elapsed.

This avoids any pre-selection bias .... I can see the entries, but since I neither can participate nor vote, that doesn't count !!

The winner will get the "WINNER" badge instead of the usual golden 1 or 2 squares.

There will be a minimum of 1 year free subscription.

If we get 10-49 entries: 2 years free subscription
                >49 entries: 5 years

To answer a question: can submitted images be changed before voting opens?

Yes, just send in another image file. We will keep the latest submission by default.

Another question and answer: Should EXIF data be deleted?

If you fear people are going to examine EXIF and your name is there, by all means delete EXIF. Not mandatory, though. Most viewers will look at the displayed image.
