Possible issue with new security certificate
« on: June 06, 2025, 15:14:00 »

As all of you are aware of, we run NG with a secured (https:) URL. The certificate has to be renewed annually, which I have done earlier a few weeks ago to be on the safe side. However, we now receive warnings from our hosting provider that the certificate runs out on June 16, 2025, whilst our certificate company claims it is valid through May 2026. I haven't been able to sort out this inconsistency at present.

This is just a notice to our members and visitors that there might, just might, be issues accessing the site through https: after June 16th. I sincerely don't hope this occurs, but it never hurts to be aware of a potential problem in advance.

Oh well, the switchover to the new DV security certificate didn't work as planned. I'll look into the reasons and try to rectify.

There is no danger, thus just accept the "danger" warning and continue using NG as before.

The morale of this morning's exercise is as follows,

RTFM  (heard that before???)

never trust you remember the procedure from last year!! Our renewed DV certificate is now OK.

My apologies to anyone scared of visiting NG during the temporary HTTPS lapse.
