Scanning a book to PDF document
« on: June 05, 2025, 08:47:11 »
Anybody have a good/easy way to scan a whole book to PDF?
I wonder if a Nikon camera could be used?
I have read about scanner apps etc. that should be able to do it.
I know I can use my flatbed scanner page for page and then concatenate all the single PDF scans to one single PDF file.
If I purchase Adobe I have read it also has a book scanning feature (the free version can't is my guess).
I am looking for a smart cheap easy way to do the job........
I am not sure if some libraries here in Denmark has a prof book scanner that can be used by the guests.

For a fast scanning of multipage documents I am using my iPhone. After taking shots of several pages it converts them to PDF. Haven't tried a whole book and don't know whether there is a page/memory limit.

Thankyou.
I have Androids phones only but I guess it could work also.
To transfer the large PDF file from phone to e.g. PC a cloud service can probably be used if attachment to a mail is too large.

For Android, I've used this for years.

I still use the free version - don't know if there's a page limit.
I found it very versatile and great for straightening images, trimming unwanted edges etc

Ok, I will try it and see how it works.
I think I installed it once but got the impression that it was not free.
I will try again and if it only costs a little it is fine also :-)

I use the Android app "Adobe Scan" which is free and very good. You can scan to the Cloud and share a downloadlink or share the document as a file.

Thank you!
I will try that.
The CS was free for 3 days and then about 36 Euro for pr. year. Maybe there is a free version I did not notice.
