I've been lost for a bit over a month traveling in Mexico , USA , Canada, steped into the southest point of Alaska.

It is great to have you back, Armando. That sounds like a wonderful adventure! Do tell us more and share some of your many images.

could be difficult to repeat that stunt
are you measuring those accidents optically?

 :)

That was not the final rest position. It was close to maximum engagement. (That is when the two vehicles have intruded as far as they are going to on each other. The damage has been done and the forces between them have reduced to zero.)

I should explain that I was on a course about motorcycle collision reconstruction. The testing provided more data for researchers but it also provided a real example for us to use the methods we had been taught to determine the motorcycle's speed, with the added advantage of being able to compare our answers to the actual speed.

The various cameras in the photograph are all recording video. There were many more. Overhead was another drone that took photographs for mapping software (Pix4D). We also attacked the scene with tape measures and a protractor. The car was scanned later. Finally there was an accelerometer on the motorcycle and another mounted at the centre of mass of the car, where the airbag control module would normally be.

Here is everything at final rest after all the measurements were taken. The accelerometer is being removed to mount it on the next motorcycle.

I visited the Agricultural University at Ås to participate in a dissertation there. Too hot a day for my liking, thus the sophisticated District Heating Facility there was quite superfluous.

Nevertheless, I duly recorded the scene with Lumix 20mm f/1|.7 on my IR-modified GF1. Then off to find an ice-cream vendor.
