A Martian feeling to it.

The first one of the pair is the better due to the poises struck by the people. The second is more static. You should of course have moved in closer but with a Fisheye on your camera, "closer" means you are really near the subject before the picture itself changes much.

Yes, I like the first one best also.

The second one was fun because all the girls are sitting for a photo apparently on the edge of the mountain.

I was working there recording some distant landscapes and clouds for another project and had no time to move or refocus. The group quickly came into the right-hand view of the Fish and was rather quickly done with their photo taking.

I have a couple more interesting shots which have motion and interesting grouping but will not post them for fear that the people's faces might be recognizable, and I don't want to embarass them.

Other-worldly, but also very dreamlike.  This is greatly added to by the way the women seem to be dressed as early pioneers. Also the way the blue dress is swirling in the breeze - it is so perfect, it just has to be a dream.

Love the first one, especially the crossed legs ;)

I think there is some flare in the sky... not sure...  :o ::)

Thank you everyone for your comments. Much appreciated!

These young women and the older ladies acting as their chaperones are from the Mennonite ethnic-religious group so they wear simple, longer dresses in pretty, soft colours and small white caps. This is referred to as dressing "plain". Mennonites are active in various peace and social issues. These women were very friendly & sweet, chatting & happy. They were taking a bus tour through Acadia National Park in Maine (USA). Almost everyone had a small point-and-shoot.

Yes that is for sure flare in the sky. In this case with the "full-spectrum" D600 and the red filter on the Fishie, I thought it added to the unreal, Martian look.

Yes, the flare is essential for me in this image.
I actually enjoy the second more, something in their stillness makes me thing something surnatural is going to happen soon and the flare is the signal of its immediacy.

Great images!
Will it be possible to get a similar look with a standard IR (720) filter? I am planning to start using my IR camera again. It's been dormant for a while.
