A lot of rain! What did you shoot with Bent?
My 24_70mm, the trick is to select a good shutter speed  ;)

Good image, Bent, that describes the weather situation well. But the spectator crowd did show up anyway, which proof that the locals of Trondheim are used to bad and variable weather :-)
I was at the XC championship as well (at the sprint sessions 27 th february), but had better luck with sunny weather.
I am not very surprised over these weather conditions in Trondheim in Mars (I studied there from 1996 to 2001), but to see the snow conditions in many mountain areas in Norway this winter is really depressing. It has been several warm periods high up in the mountains in southern Norway this winter, where it use to be stable and cold during this period.
Here in the mountains near Lillehammer, the snow situation is better, but still below average..
Thank you for the nice comment, I got a picture from my cousin yesterday from Sjusjøen, with lots of snow and blue sky.

Congrats, Daniel! - a friend of mine has it and I've tried it a few times... addictive lens :)
Many thanks Lars, I'll share the resulting photos.

Yes, yesterday was a beautyful day at Sjusjøen. And today the main race of the 54 km XC Birkebeinerrennet with more than 9000 participants was arranged (I actually participated for the first time, and did unfortunately not take any photos :-) ), with excellent snow conditions from the valley to the mountains . It passes through Sjusjøen. So it is not all negative everywhere.

The 400mm is brand new Fons. A long dream to get more into Wildlife. Lot‘s to learn  :)
The lens is a dream come true!
Because I have the 4/300PF and the 14E3 I skipped this one. As soon as I got too much money I will buy a Z9 & the Z4.5/400S ...

Many thanks in advance, Daniel - that would be great. To me, it would be very interesting to see how it fares in landscapes similar to your great mountain shot(s) with the AF-S 300mm PF, like this one:

Both lenses play in the same league. The 300PF even with the 14E3 Teleconverter. Yet, the 4.5/400 is ... oh, I love this lens if you really need a 400@f/4.5 if you already got a 420@f/5.6 of the same quality ... luxurious squared

The point is the eye watering 3D-look of these optics on every camera

Nikon D1h  24-70/2.8G    The Nikon D1h only counts 2004 pixels on the wide side, so, what you see is what you get ;)

It works in that sequence since the TC is F-mount. Unfortunately, Nikon has severely limited the options for using the TC14Z, thus you cannot simply add this TC to any Z-mount lens which fits. Or to the FTZ since the latter physically blocks the TC14Z. A pity as the Z-version of the 1.4X is really good. It works wonders on the 70-180/2.8Z and the 400/4.5Z.

Spring is been severely delayed by cold weather, but the calender says it should be spring? The little Tussilago farfara read the calender news, however, and decided to raise their little flower heads aboveground.

Ultra-Micro-Nikkor 28mm f/1.8 on one of my modified Nikon 1V1 bodies. If 1V1 is "obsolete" by today's standards., what about the UMN 28/1.8 from early '70s? Obviously merely industrial waste, to be thrown away. I'll keep that in mind.

Misty and cold today...
Z8 & Z 400m 4.5

I was being lazy and shot out of the balcony with a warm lens and I suspect massive thermal effects which resulted in a even more misty picture
